CaravanParks.com Koro-Koro Rally / Saamtrek. Koro-Koro 23 – 25th March 2012

What a "Lekker" turnout! We had 21 families at the CaravanParks.com Forums Members Koro-Koro Rally. The weather was superb, the comradeship was exceptional, the venue was excellent, and an absolutely good time was had by all!

A special thanks to Willem Brits (Wilsur) for putting the whole Rally together – much appreciated. I see you have "Passed the buck" for the next CaravanParks.com Rally/Saamtrek to be held in August this year. The proposed venue is to be ATKV Eiland Spa. (That’s if they can accommodate us.)

It was great to put faces to the names of the CaravanParks.com Forums Members. Let this Rally/Saamtrek, like the previous one; grow in Members' attendance in the future.

Surprise, surprise – "Laager" turned up (who is DR DRAKE GP that's not a Doctor nor GP)  and preached the gospel of holding a "Laager" the whole weekend! Thanks David for taking the time to join us at Koro-Koro. It was great to meet you. (He even has "DR DRAKE GP" as his vehicle registration – cheeky.)

We missed "Liewe Heksie" who made a big "song and dance" about not been able to join us for "personal family" reasons. Christa, please try for the next Rally. We really missed your trouble making and noisy personality. And your broom! Christa (Liewe Heksie) actually carries (rides?) her broom wherever she goes. I feel for her work mates!

The Saturday evening communal braai and get together was a huge success, with certain members only getting to bed after  – MIDNIGHT! (We actually got into bed sober as well!) See how well behaved the CaravanParks.com Forums Members are!

Hennie J V Rensburg: Dankie Wilsur en al die ander, ons het lekker gekuier en al is dit weer 'n langpad terug sal ons nie kla nie want dit was lekker.

Thanks to all the Willems and Wulsur. Enjoyed my first rally with all the new friends I met. It was magnificent and has been successful. Thank you especially to Nico and Annatjie Petersen's friendship - you're pals a thousand. Thanks Nico for your great support and assistance. Thanks Koro Koro too. We will miss the next rally - you must remember me there at Die Eiland.

Leon Coetzee: Aan almal wat die saamtrek bygewoon het, wil ek net se "Julle is GOUE mense".  Dit was lekker om so saam te kuier, verskoon as ek by mense se waens verby geloop het en dalk nie gegroet het nie. Dit was nie aspris nie ek ken net nie almal se gesigte nie.

Dankie Willem vir die reelings en veral aan almal wat bereid was om so ver te ry. Verseker is dit maar volgende keer ons beurt om die wiele so ver te laat rol.

Laastens wil ek net se Koro Koro sien my verseker weer in die toekoms. Een van die Juwele in Limpopo.

To everyone who attended the rally, I would just say "You are GREAT people." It was so nice to socialize. Please excuse me if I walked pass peoples vans without greeting. It was not on purpose. I just do not know everyone's faces. (Leon, that's the purpose of the Rally/Saamtrek - LAAGER – to "Gatecrash" and meet everyone! Willie)

Thanks Willem for the arrangements and especially to all who were willing to travel so far. Last but not least, next time it will be our time to turn the wheels further. Finally I just want to say that Koro Koro is assured of seeing me again in the future. One of the Jewels in Limpopo.

Adri van Staden: Van ons kant af ook: baie dankie aan almal vir die lekker saamtrek. Dit was ons eerste saam met hierdie groep en beslis nie ons laaste nie. Ons het baie vriende van die forum ontmoet, maar ongelukkig nie almal nie. Wens ek was nie so deksels beskeie nie, dan het sommer oral ingestap en gevra wie is jy nou eintlik. Miskien loop ons mekaar volgende keer raak.

Darem hierdie naweek gehoor daar is mense wat ons taal goed kan kruie ...

En verder stem ek saam oor Koro Koro. Regtig 'n baie netjiese oord en hy sal op ons lysie van aanbevole oorde wees.

Nou wag die Eiland! Hoop ons kan dit maak!

From our side, too: thanks to everyone for the nice rally. This was our first with this group and certainly will not be our last. We have met many friends from the forum, but unfortunately not all. Wish I was not so modest, then just walked around and asked who you are now actually. Perhaps next time we get together. (Adri – be like David – GATECRASH. That's why we LAAGER!)
At least this weekend there were people who can really socialize.
And also I agree about Koro Koro. Really a neat place and it will on be our list of recommended accommodation in the future.
Now waiting for the Island! Hope we can make it!

As you know I have to be otherwise - so here goes the English .....

Dankie ook aan julle almal. Dit was goed om julle te ontmoet en ek glo ons verstaan mekaar tog beter. Dis anders om met mekaar te gesels as om iets op skrif te sit. My dogter het ook opmerking gemaak dat dit nou iets anders was as om karavaan te hak en by 'n karavaan park in te trek. Ons het dit baie aangenaam en interesant gevind.

Ons weet nog nie van die eiland nie, maar as ons nie daar is nie, is dit beslis nie omdat ons kwaad is vir julle nie. Inteendeel, ek dink ons het kamp vriende by gekry, al gesels ons net op die forum.

Willie .... jy het my nou deurmekaar --- is dit "lager" soos in CASTLE of "laager" soos in boere oorlog? Ongeag, ek weet ek het vir almal daar iets gegee om oor te gesels. Moontlik bring ek weer die lager laager toe!!!!!

Thanks to you all. It was good to meet you and I believe we now understand each other better. It's different to talk to each other than writing something down. My daughter has commented that it was something other than simply hitching our caravan and then actually camping at a caravan park. We found it to be a very pleasant and interesting outing and place to visit.
We do not know of Die Eiland, but if we are not there, it's certainly not because we are angry with you. Rather, I think we have made good friends at this camp, we just all talk on the forum.
Willie .... you have me confused --- is it "laager" as in CASTLE or "laager" as in the Boer war? Regardless, I know I have given everyone something to talk about. Maybe I bring back to the laager- the laager!! (David – join us as often as you can. You will learn what LAAGER and to GATECRASH really is all about! Willie)

Rachel Johnson: Thank you for a wonderful camp once again.  Willem, jy mag maar.

We met a few new people but also enjoyed seeing the more familiar faces.

Ons het net een versoek aan Koro Koro.  Daar is heelwat doringtakke wat laag hang op die pad in.  Dit sal waardeer word as die lae takkies weggesny kan word.

We have only one request to Koro Koro. There are many thorny branches that hang low on the road. It will be appreciated if the low branches can be cut away.
